It did jack shit aside from letting me screw up my rocker panel by being a moron. Couldn't get the stands under either because it couldn't hold the car up after a few inches despite being rated at 2 tons. So I'm halfway through the tuneup with a new distributor rotor and cap and spark plug wires, but fuel filter and spark plugs still need to be installed. Replacing one screw that was incredibly awkwardly positioned screw took 3 screws and 30 minutes! SR20s below to give you an idea (That's the old coil pack, which it retains. The screw is to the bottom right of the coil pack on the top image. The whole car has been washed and waxed, at least.

Ahh memories. As I said, a c4 will help you learn to work on cars. Im impressed that you aren't freaking out more when shit happens. :)

Oh trust me, I'm still reeling over the horrors I have just experienced, but now I'm more pissed at myself than worried. I can only seek console in the fact that the panel was already pretty screwed up after 133k miles and some abuse (it appears) anyways, so I might buy a new panel soon. The thing that I'm most angry about is that jacking the car probably wouldn't even have helped me. I'm so frustrated with myself right now, though.

C5/6 no different. A person working on these should buy jacking pucks. There isnt a really good place to jack any if them. Certainly dont jack by the diff cover and break that seal. You can move a bit farther forward of the cover and be fine.

I will definitely invest in those . I was jacking up the front of the car, actually, but I've heard enough diff cover destruction stories to deter me from making that mistake!
